"For the love of art"

FOR 30 YEARS, LINDA AND GUY PIETERS DREAMT OF CREATING THEIR OWN FOUNDATION ENTIRELY DEVOTED TO CONTEMPORARY ART AND THE INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED ARTISTS THEY WORK WITH.

And so, as the crowning achievement of their long career, the Linda and Guy Pieters Foundation opened its doors in a beautifully renovated mansion on the Place des Lices, in the heart of Saint Tropez, in July 2018.

The artist Christo, who needs no introduction, honoured his longtime friends Linda and Guy by opening the foundation with a beautiful exhibition of The Mastaba, his project in Hyde Park, London.

Subsequently, Arman’s (ᵻ 2005) work was celebrated until autumn with a large exhibition of sculptures installed throughout the town of Saint Tropez. A unique and rare success, not only in the view of specialists and critics, but also highly appreciated by the general public and fans, passionate about cultural tourism and heritage development.

In the spring of 2019, Jan Fabre, one of the most innovative and versatile artists of his generation, seduced all of Saint-Tropez with his exhibition of sculptures and drawings “Le garcon qui porte la lune et les étoiles sur sa tête”.

Jean-Michel Folon (ᵻ 2005) was next with a wonderful journey of monumental sculptures in the city and on the docks of the port last summer. Best known for the closing credits on the French channel Antenne 2, Jean-Michel Folon was also a strong supporter of the environment and humanitarian causes.

The events of 2020 have inspired the French artist Ben (Vautier, °1935) for his summer exhibition at the Fondation entitled "l'art est un virus"

In the summer of 2021, 8 large-format sculptures by the artist Rotraut were installed in the city and Miguel Chevalier, who had dressed the emblematic lighthouse of Saint-Tropez, exhibited his Fractal Corals at the Foundation.

2021 was marked by the passing of their friend Christo, Linda and Guy Pieters were honored to be able to contribute to the realization of his last project, 'L'Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped', a temporary artwork for Paris, which was exhibited for 16 days in autumn 2021. It was a memorable tribute to the artist's genius.

In 2022 we featured Koen Vanmechelen, Delphine Van Saksen-Coburg and Jacques Heripret, followed by Julian Schnabel with a fantastic Plate Painting collection in 2023.

2024 opens with Wolfgang Volz’s beautiful photographs of Christo & Jeanne Claude’s realisations.

Stay tuned for the Summer season 2024 announcements, soon to be disclosed!
