The things that influenced her in life, made her built her personal signature which she translated into art. The end results are her way of experimenting with the poetics of the images.
The main focus of Barbara De Pauw’s work is her own imagination. She blurs the boundaries between objective and subjective photography, which translates to the vibrant core in her artistic work. Her work shows a palette of techniques while trying to answer questions of femininity, nature’s energy and abstraction by exploring contemporary art with curiosity. Barbara De Pauw is most inspired by artists such as Otto Steinert and Wolfgang Tillmans, with whom she shares the interest to experiment with the poetics of the image.
